After having obtained his doctoral degree in Tongji University School of Medicine at the Year 2015, he entered Shanghai Tenth People’s Hospital for his residency training and decided to be a spine surgeon. Nowadays, he is a member of North American Spine Society, a global multidisciplinary medical society that utilizes education, research and advocacy to foster the highest quality, ethical, value- and evidence-based spine care for patients.
Dr. Fan is a surgeon, and also a scientist. He focused his clinical and research work on spinal surgery for many years. As a surgeon, he is familiar with minimal invasive spine surgery, like percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy, percutaneous pedicle screw placement and minimal invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion. For the recent years, he developed a novel navigation system for minimal invasive spine surgery and has been applied in many hospitals. Thus, he obtained the Best Young Investigator Award of the 1st Symposium of Chinese Spinal Pain Intervention and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, Top Prize of 2016 ShangQi Edu. Innovation Competition, The First Prize of 2016 Shanghai Tech. Innov. Competition and The First Prize of 14th CHEN JIAGEN Young Investigator Invention Competition. He has obtained 7 patents and published over 30 SCI papers, and he was named as the Future Innovation Star by Shanghai Education Department and Shanghai Science Department in 2016.
